Prop 65

‍ ‍

Why do some of our Seafood products carry a Proposition 65 warning?

California's Proposition 65 requires businesses to warn consumers about exposures to chemicals that the state has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm — even when those chemicals occur naturally.

Seafood, like many ocean fish, can contain trace amounts of naturally occurring chemicals such as lead and cadmium, which are present in the marine environment.

Prop 65 is designed to help Californians make informed choices — not to imply that a product is unsafe. We include this warning out of legal compliance and transparency, not because our seafood poses any meaningful risk to consumers.

⚠ WARNING: Consuming Vantia Seafood product can expose you to chemicals including lead and cadmium, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov/food.
